Ginger and Smudge
GINGER AND SMUDGE TOY CATS KNITTING PATTERNS
A pair of lazy fat cats! Ginger, the orange striped cat, is having a little rest (well it is hard work being a cat), and he could make a sweet doorstop. Smudge is the grey sitting cat, and you could use him as a bookend.
THE PATTERN INCLUDES: Row numbers for each step so you don’t lose your place, instructions for making the two cats, 11 photos, a list of abbreviations and explanation of some techniques, a materials list and recommended yarns. The pattern is 6 pages and written in English.
TECHNIQUES: All pieces are knitted flat (back and forth) on a pair of straight knitting needles. You will need to cast on and off, knit, purl, work increases and decreases, knit stripes and sew seams. Smudge (the grey cat) uses kitchener stitch grafting.
YARN, NEEDLES AND NOTIONS INCLUDE:
- A pair of straight 3.5mm knitting needles (US 4)
- Double knitting yarns (light worsted weight); less than 100g in each colour
- Toy filling
- Toy safety eyes
