The lace pattern used in this scarf is called Antique Diamond Pattern and was charted and adapted from Barbara G. Walker’s Book A Treasury of Knitting Patterns, 1998. Knitted, this pattern is reminiscent of ginkgo leaves, hence the name of the scarf.

The lace pattern is worked over 27 stitches, 6 of which are edge stitches. There is patterning on WS and RS rows. There are notes within the pattern on how to interpret some of the symbols when both knitting and purling occur on WS rows.

Yarn used in the model is from Avillion Farms whose website is currently being udpated (please email owner for yarn purchasing details). Alternative yarns that can be used -- any fingering weight yarn and yarns such as Doucier et Soie and other lace weight yarns.

Please note that Avillion Farms was given permission to print this pattern as a free pattern with sale of yarn. If you have a previous pattern, this may be why.
