Welcome to the second in my shawlette trilogy. I set myself the task of designing and knitting three small shawls named after all the places I’ve lived, a past, present and future if you like.

So here is Glenlara is a 2ply lace weight lace shawlette that can be made to any size or with any weight yarn. It begins with 9 stitches and is worked from side to side with an edging that is knit at the same time. There is no casting off as when the second half is knit you graft both ends of the edging together.

You can easily accommodate yarn left over in your stash as once you get to the halfway point you can weigh the remainder and once you have at least half your yarn left, you know to start decreasing!

The shawlette pictured measures 32” x 60” approx.

The shawlette is knit entirely in garter stitch and patterning is on every other row.
