This little gnome sits 9 inches high to the tip of his hat. He is going to be loved by any gnome or fantasy loving person.

He is knitted using DK yarn (I used Stylecraft special DK) on 3mm needles apart from his hat, which is made using 3.75mm needle. He is knitted flat and seamed.
The pattern itself clearly written and has no complicated stitches or shaping. If you can knit, purl increase and decrease that is all you need to know. There are colour changes in his legs, but if you are worried by these, there is no reason you cannot use just one colour. I class the pattern as suitable for a confident beginner. There are many photos’ to help you along the way; I also add tips and suggestions where I think they may be useful.

These are the materials needed to make him.
All the DK yarns used will be less than 40g.I used the following colours.
Stone
Lime green
Dark brown
Rust
Bottle green
Flesh tone
Black
White
Pair of straight 3mm needles
Pair of straight 3.75mm needles
8 inch square of material of your choice for the bag.
Twig or kebab stick for the bag handle
Fibrefill
Blusher and powdered brown eye shadow (optional)
Cotton tip (optional)
4 x 12 inch chenille sticks – any colour
Fibrefill
Stitch holder or spare Double pointed needle

These are the abbreviation used
K = Knit
P = Purl
St/sts = stitch/stitches
Ss = stocking stitch (knit one row – purl one row)
GS = garter stitch every row knit
Tog – knit/purl the next 2 sts together (decrease)
Inc1 = knit into the FRONT and the BACK of the next stitch (increase)
Please note: If you use any other method than this to increase, your stitch count might not work out.
