This versatile wrap was designed with travel in mind. It is knit from a heavy fingering-light sportweight handspun yarn, but it is very adaptable to whatever yarn you have on hand. It is worked with a simple slip stitch pattern that resembles a woven fabric, with optional slits which may be worn open to have the wrap work as a vest, or buttoned closed so that it can be used as a rectangular wrap and/or lap blanket.

When substituting yarns, pick a lightweight drapey yarn for best results. Instructions are given within the pattern to customize it if you’d prefer to use a different stitch pattern, or wish to alter the sizing of the wrap. I used a handspun single-ply yarn of Polwarth wool and silk (80/20 blend), hand-dyed in the “Pompeii” colorway through Wooly Wonka Fibers.
