My husband’s beloved Grandma Benne crocheted many projects using this versatile stitch, including his favorite scarf. It’s easy and quick. Scalloped edges are created as the rows are crocheted.

Using this elegant stitch pattern and a size L, 8.0 mm crochet hook, crochet this easy chunky cowl in no time at all. Finish it with or without a moebius twist.

Would you rather have a scarf? No problem! Just keep crocheting the pattern until your desired length. Increase the width in multiples of two for a wider scarf or cowl. (Be sure to purchase additional yardage for a project with an increased stitch count.)

Indulge yourself in the rich color ways, softness and abundant selection of chunky hand painted yarns available for your crocheting pleasure.

The cowl measures approximately 4 inches wide x 44 inches in circumference. Gauge is approximately 3 stitches per inch in pattern.

I used a size K hook and two hanks of yarn for the Malabrigo Mecha and Malabrigo Chunky scarf versions pictured.
