Garter stitch and a broken brioche stitch, color blocked and striped, combine to make this lovely, top down, half-pi shawl a showpiece for your speckled yarns. An icord bind-off gives the lower edge a beautiful, clean finish.

The two colors that I designed this shawl with, have such wonderful, graphic contrast that I wanted to create a design that took advantage of the contrast. This meant clean lines and gentle textures that let the delicate, speckled “Dusty Roses” colorway shine. The crispness of the design called for a very clean finish at the hem, so I used an icord bind off for a tailored edge.

Greta Magnussen was a mid-20th century, Swedish-born, furniture designer, interior designer, and architect. Her work often incorporated clean lines and gentle curves, not unlike the shawl, so I named the pattern in her honor.
