……………………………………………………………………………………………

All pieces are worked in the round for minimal
finishing.
The body and head are knit in one piece, with the
with the option to attach the arms as you go or sew them on afterward for alternative placement.
I recommend the Magic Loop Method for knitting
in the round but use any method for knitting in the round that you are comfortable with.
A fun, quick and easy project for knitters of any skill level. All the shaping is made with simple increase & decrease stitches.

Skills required to knit this toy:
-Knit & Purl in the round
-Increase and decrease stitches
-Follow instructions for a three-needle decrease (provided in pattern)
Sizes: Any weight of yarn may be used so size will depend on the yarn and needles you select. Please refer to my sample info below for a good starting point to help with your decision.

Materials & Tools
• Yardage estimates and needle and safety eye sizes
for my three sample sizes:
7.5” - (speckled ghost) 15 grams fingering weight (sock yarn), US 1/2.25mm needles, 15mm eyes
10.5” - (white ghost) 40 grams DK weight, US 3/3.25mm needles, 24mm eyes
12” - (blue ghost) 30 grams single-ply worsted, US 5/3.75mm needles, 30mm eyes

• Needles for working in the round (DPNs, 2 circulars, or 1 long
circular for Magic Loop). Needle size will vary depending on the
yarn you use (see Gauge).
• An additional needle, same size as above, to use when working
a three-needle decrease or a 3-needle bind-off.
• Tapestry needle
• One pair of safety eyes for each ghost. An excellent selection is available from seller 6060 on Etsy and 6060eyes.com.
• Polyfil
• Scrap yarn or spare needles for holding live stitches
• Scrap yarn for eyelids and mouth
• Optional: Stitch marker for the beginning of the round and/or a removable marker to place on the front of your work.

Gauge
You want to produce a dense fabric so the polyfil does not poke through. Use a needle that is at least 1 or 2 sizes smaller than the smallest needle size recommended on the yarn label.
