Haiku is a simple ribbed pattern in the round with contrasting coloured edging, thumb and crocheted vertical stripes.

The Twilleys Freedom Echo is a yarn made from recycled jeans and cotton. (I love that…) It has a texture to it but is also soft.

I used Rowan Pure Wool DK for the contrast colour but any DK yarn you wish to use would be ok. You need less than 10 yards so something from your stash would be fine.

The stripes are crocheted into the purl channels after finishing the mitt but you do not need to be a crocheter to do this (I’m not one myself…) as it is simple enough and expained in the pattern.
