Description
This seamless sweater features distinctive trim using a decorative blanket stitch. It has a bit of the flair of the classic Chanel-style jacket.
The lower hem is done in garter stitch, turned up and stitched in a contrasting color, and the sleeve cuffs are edged in the same way. Blanket stitch is also applied to the collar and armhole seams.
The body of the sweater features stockinette stitch with purl ridges for textural interest. The slight sheen and wonderful drape of the silk and merino yarn adds to the appeal of the sweater.
Construction
The sweater is knitted in one piece from the bottom up, then separated at the armholes for the fronts and back to be worked separately. Sleeves are picked up around the armhole and worked downward in the round.
It has standard ease and gentle waist shaping. Button bands and the wide collar are done in garter stitch.
Instructions are included for the simple blanket stitch embroidery trim.
