Dear knitters! Here is an explanation of the 2 over 1 cross That wrote my friend Jody
When you get to the 3 stitches to be worked, think of that cable needle as just something to help you change the order of the stitches on the left needle. Let’s start by putting stitch #1 and #2 on the cable needle and those two stitches are going to hang out at the front of the work while you knit the next stitch on your left needle (stitch #3) tbl. NOW, you will need to work the two stitches that have been resting. The simplest and least confusing is to move those two stitches off of the cable needle and back onto the left hand needle, keeping them in the same order. Now you will purl stitch #1 on the left needle and Ktbl stitch #2
Here is what it will look like….
Looking down at your left needle and numbering the next three stitches from right to left, before you move anybody you will see…
3 2 1*
When you reposition them with the help of your cable needle you will actually work them in this order… remember that my diagram is read from right to left.
