I called the hat ‘heaven on earth’. It is blue like the sky but as in my language there is just one word which means both heaven and sky in English, I chose heaven. It just seemed nicer.

Size: The pattern is written in four sizes: child, teenager, adult medium and adult large, to fit head circumference of approx. 17 ¼ ( 19 ½, 21 ¾, 23)’’ / 44 (49.5, 55, 60.5)cm unstretched. The hat can be worked as a beanie or slouch hat.

The size can also be adjusted by going up or down a needle size, or by changing the yarn weight and adjusting the needles accordingly.

Level: Adventurous beginner or intermediate. The hat is knit in the round. The pattern uses long-tail cast on, slipped stitches, basic cables, yarnovers.

Needle size and notions: US 6 / 4mm and US 7 / 4.5mm circulars or DPNs if you don’t like the magic loop method), a cable needle and a marker.

Gauge: 17 sts and 23 rows in stockinette with larger size needles. If necessary, go up a needle size (or two) to get the gauge.

Yarn suggested: Aran weight yarn that meets the gauge, 50 - 80g.
