From book: This was Lautrec’s first poster, painted in 1891. La Goulue, with her distinct top-knot flashes her frilly petticoats behind the emancipated silhouette of Boneless Valentin. The customers of the club are shown merely as jaunty rows of hats.

This jacket is entirely knitting in intarsia with features of Boneless Valentin ad La Goulue worked in embroidery. The lettering has been limited to the sleaves and the back of the jacket.
