Hera’s Peacocks was the pattern for the Holiday Yarns Lace Club for June 2012. It features an open peacock stitch surrounded by lace. Beading is optional.

The pattern includes both written and charted directions. The original was done in lace, but any yarn weight can be substituted. Just make sure to buy extra yardage if making a large shawl or using a heavier weight yarn.

Testers used between 440 yards and 700 yards depending on how large the shawl was made. Beading amounts will depend on how many repeats are performed. I would plan on 350 for a smaller shawl and up to 700 for a very large shawl.
