‘He was hardly more than five feet four inches but carried himself with great dignity. His head was exactly the shape of an egg, and he always perched it a little on one side…The neatness of his attire was almost incredible; I believe a speck of dust would have caused him more pain than a bullet wound.”

Unique for his exuberant moustaches and world-renowned little grey cells, the incomparable Hercule Poirot is also known for his precise elegance, from his patent leather shoes to his impeccable formal suits.

This straightforward top-down, seamless, blazer-like cardigan features a distinguished notched collar and optional pockets: two body pockets with flaps and a tiny adorable chest pocket, perfect to dress up the cardigan with a very smart pocket square.

CONSTRUCTION:

This cardigan is worked seamlessly from the top down and features optional knitted-in body pockets and an afterthought chest pocket. The sleeves are separated from the body at underarm level, then worked in the round. Stitches are picked up along the fronts and the neckline to work the notched collar and button bands. The collar is shaped using German short rows (link to video tutorial in the pattern). The pocket linings require some seaming.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Casting on, knitting, purling, increasing, decreasing, knitting in the round, picking up stitches, working short rows (explanations/link to video tutorial provided), binding off.
