This sweet little hat was inspired by the movie based on the book Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. It’s the prefect marriage of substantial cables and and feminine lace – perfect for transitional weather. The top of this hat features unique decreases, resulting in a beautiful snowflake effect when viewed from the top. Even if you’re not a Harry Potter fan, this is a hat even the most discerning wearer will love!

Note: If you downloaded Hermione Hearts Ron prior to July 30, at 8:30am PST, I’ve uploaded a new pdf since then with a few additions. No changes to the main pattern itself, but I wanted to clarify a few points. Don’t want to be a designer who assumes knitters will intuitively know everything and/or can read my mind! Here are the changes:

• Added a Cable Needle to the materials list. (Honestly, I rarely use a cable needle, so adding this to the materials list totally went over my head.)
• Specified that ribbing is worked on smaller needles.
• specified that main hat body is worked on larger needles
• Specified that one should switch to DPN’s when decreasing makes H <3 R unworkable on circs.
