A not so ordinary Asymmetrical Shawl

The knit body was created with bands of garter st and a simple lace mesh pattern. The mesh is reminiscent of crochet work and the contrast between the tight garter st and open lace makes for a fun knit. The fat tassel and knotted mesh visually elongate the shawl to make it appear larger than it really is.

This pattern was designed to use up odd bits of skeins and balls hanging around your stash. I picked a brightly coloured gradient from my stash and paired it with leftovers oddments from other projects for the finishing.

Materials: Main yarn 400 yds of fingering weight, tassel and fringe can be made with scraps of two other colours of yarn or 50 grs more of same yarn.

Sample used Freia Shawl Ball in the Dirty Hippy colourway for the body of the shawl, scraps (approx. 18 grs) of Zen Superperfine Glitter in Lemon Twist for the tassel and (approx. 25 grs) of Lang Magic Tweed sh 078 for the fringe.

A photo tutorial for the knotted fringe is included with the pattern.
