Oh, the holidays! That time of year when the family is expecting all kinds of unbelievable things from you (like cooking, cleaning, baking…), you can’t walk into a store because they’re all mobbed, and every show you watch has holiday-themed episodes!

Nevertheless, you push through and you try to enjoy it all as best as you can. I mean, how could they think you have to find time to do so much? When do you find time for yourself? This is the time of year that we ALL look for a mental break from the stress.

That’s why I decided to time my 2015 MKAL around the holiday season! I think it will be beneficial to us all to take a step back and BREATHE and make time for ourselves each week. I opted for easy-to-follow Fair Isle patterns so that at the end, we all end up with a warm, cozy, triangular shawl to drape around our shoulders that will remind us of the 2015 holiday season.

Clues will be released on Wednesdays between 9 am and 11 am beginning December 2nd for 6 weeks.

MATERIALS
Yarn: Bijou Basin Ranch Himalayan Trail, sportweight, 200 yards/50 g per skein, 75% yak/25% merino, 3 skeins: 2 in a Main Color (MC) and 1 in a Contrast Color (CC)

Needles: US 5 (4mm) (I used a 24” circular)

Gauge: 6 sts and 7 rows in fair isle swatch pattern provided (blocked)
