These cute mitts are the same pattern as my “Snuggles”, but with the added interest of a charted holly and berry pattern to strand or add with duplicate stitch. Duplicate stitch is very easy and the chart is big, easy to read. The beginning stitch of the duplicate stitch is marked for you on the mitt as you knit, taking away any guesswork.

The mitt is easy stockinette/stocking stitch, including the glove. The increases are m1R and m1L. If you’re uncomfortable with these increases, you can substitute yarn over for each increase of the thumb. The bottom (except for the easy wrist ribbing) and the top of the mitt curl naturally with the stockinette (stocking) stitch. SO EASY! They fit beautifully. If you want to make the mitt smaller, go to heavy weight fingering and size 2 or 3 needles. Larger…use light worsted and size 5 (or 6 for a man’s hand).

A note about the yarn…Cascade 220 Superwash Sport actually works to a dk gauge. We’ve sold it in our shop as a dk for a long time, we LOVE this Merino superwash; but it isn’t sport weight!!
