The instructions for this hat are written out. The cruller cable band is knit then sewn or grafted together, then stitches are picked up and knit in the round to complete the project. The cables in this hat are not difficult. I did not add a tassel or pompom but you certainly could if you wanted.

This is meant to be a warm winter hat. The finished band on the hat is 19 3/4 inches before grafting. It should fit a Medium woman’s head nicely. I have knit this in Cascade 220 and Peace Fleece Worsted.
I had to go down to a size 5 needle to get the right gauge for the Peace Fleece. In both cases one skein of yarn was used with some left over.

In the pictures, the green sample is in Peace Fleece and the Beige sample is in Cascade 220.
