This is a pattern for a four sectioned shawl. I designed this for my lovely friend, Marion, who is an abstract painter and named the shawl after one of her pieces that contains the words, “when I feel fear, I flap my wings and glide”. Through painted marks, collage, and words she expresses wind, sky, and birds. I wanted to include these elements in her shawl to share with you.

It is a shawl with relatively simple stitches on both RS and WS, the motif can be continued to adjust the size of the shawl. Marion enjoys smaller shawlettes and so that is the one pictured here.

Please note, check gauge for this pattern as I am a loose knitter and if you do not knit on large enough needles you will get a very small shawl! The pattern is available in both written and chart format. Please join the bunnymuff group and we can have a cheery chat and share images!
