This pattern was initially released as an exclusive for Patrol 1 of the Sunnydale Yarn Club.

Inspired by “Prophecy Girl”, the season 1 finale of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, this cowl features paths of slipped stitches leading to columns of yarn-over vampire bites. It’s a whimsical inspiration, but the cowl is squishy and wearable. The slipped stitch pattern lends itself nicely to both highly variegated yarns and more solid colors.

The pattern has a finished width of 7 inches and a finished circumference of 52 inches. Gauge is not crucial to this project, but almost the entire 400 yard skein was used to create the cowl as shown, so if you want to make a larger cowl or are not hitting gauge, you may need to get a second skein of yarn.

The pattern contains both written and charted instructions.

To make this pattern, you should be familiar with knitting, purling, working in the round, yarn overs, slipped stitches, make one, decreases, and cabling.
