I talk with the sun, said the wren,
As soon as he starts to shine.
I talk with the sun, said the wren,
And the day is mine.
From the poem ‘I talk with the Moon’, by Beverly McLoughland

The early bird gets a cup of tea! So keep it warm with this bird-themed tea cosy. Available in a range of sizes, and with a number of custom sizing options, this tea cosy will be an adorable addition to any tea pot.

This tea cosy is the companion piece to the owl-based I talk with the Moon Tea Cosy. Both patterns can be purchased together as a mini-collection (with a discount!).

Notes
Yarn
The sample shown uses a DK weight, non-superwash pure wool. It is recommended that you choose a woollen-spun yarn which has a halo, allow the fibres to grip or stick to one another. Smooth, shiny yarns (i.e. worsted spun, superwash treated, or those with slippery fibres – alpaca, silk, cotton, etc.) are not recommended for use with this pattern due to its use of crocheted steek.

Customisation
The pattern can be modified in a few different ways so that your finished tea cosy fits your pot. Suggestions for customising the pattern are included next to the written instructions in the help / Custom boxes.

Remember to adjust your overall st counts if modifying the pattern. Extra yarn will be need if the size is increased beyond the XL given in the pattern.
