Shawl is an asymmetrical design and measures approximately 48”/122cm along bottom edge, 94”/240cm along left edge, 67”/167cm at right edge, and 31”/79cm at deepest point.

The shawl is designed using Vivacious DK, 2 skeins of Lundy Island #815 as main color, 1 skein of Copper Tones #802 for contrasting color. These are two of their tonally dyed yarns. The pattern is best knit in solid to tonal with two colors that are at least slightly contrasting. If you prefer variegated yarn, choose this for your contrasting color. Sport and Fingering weight yarn is also suitable for a smaller shawl.

Pattern includes 336 6/0 glass beads, I used Myuki #F463k. Beads should be chosen to match both main color and contrasting color, will be applied on both. If you don’t wish to include beads, just knit that stitch.

Techniques used in this pattern include creating stitches along side of lace border edge eliminating the need to pick up and knit stitches. This is a fun technique that adds to the design; A twisted wrap stitch; Front and Back Cross stitches, also known as Traveling stitches; Attaching beads; and Lace work. Below you will find links to some of these techniques. The lace edging and leaf motif are worked from a chart.

I am a tight knitter so please do gauge if you don’t want a shawl larger than the above measurements and to ensure you have adequate amounts yarn.
