Ikebana is a Japanese art of arranging flowers. This romantic shawlette also uses different stitch patterns that remind me of flowers.

The shawlette is knitted top down. The shape is a classic triangle where two identical halves of the shawlette are separated by a central spine. It is a relatively simple and quick knit which makes it suitable for advanced beginners who have some experience in knitting lace stitches. The size of the shawlette can very easily be modified.

The pattern has both charted and written instructions. It is available in English and in Estonian.

The sample was knitted using fingering weight sock yarn.
