Reminiscent of a garden filled with blooming lilies, the shawl is based upon the beautiful stitch collection by Chie Kose. The alternating sections of lace and cable create delicate petal like designs across the body of the shawl. The edge lined with cables and pulled into peaks mirrors the slightly crinkled edge of the Incan lily.

It comes in one size.

The pattern is given in full charted and written instructions.

Skill Level: easy to intermediate.
Some experience with shawl construction and cables and lace is helpful. The most complicated stitches are cables of 6 stitches across and lace comprised of yarn-overs and knit-three-together.

Finished size is approximately 62 x 20 inches.

Notes on materials:

  • 650 - 700 yards (600-640 meters) of fingering weight yarn
  • Needles: US 3 (3.25 mm) & US 6 (4.0 mm) circular needles at least 24” long
  • Stitch markers (if desired, no insturctions given for placement)
  • Notions: tapestry needle, scissors, tape measure, blocking pins, cable needle

The numbers given for yards/meters needed of yarn are averaged from test knitting: if you knit loosely add an extra 30 yards to your total just in case.

A huge thank you to the lovely ladies that test knit this shawl! I’m always inspired by working with such wonderful women. Thanks, ElizeK, millufos , sanita60, nadelhexe1, artisdrie.
