Inniskór is an Icelandic word meaning inside shoes - the kind of slippers you reach for to relax by the fire after a hard day’s work. With their cushioned garter stitch sole, relaxed fit and ankle-warming cabled band, these slippers are robust, dependable and incredibly comfortable. Designed to use either the chunky/bulky weight Quince & Co. Puffin or the super-bulky Greenbow Farm Yarn Icelandic Lopi, this pattern gives you the option to knit the same variety of sizes with either yarn weight. Quince & Co. Puffin is a wonderfully plush single-ply 100% American grown and spun “territory blend” of Merino, Rambouillet and Columbia wools, while the ruggedly beautiful Greenbow Farm Lopi is 100% American grown and spun natural Icelandic Lopi wool from the Green Bow family farm in Washington State. These yarns are beautiful in different ways but both work hard when knit into comfortable, ankle- warming cabled slippers.

Inniskór is one of 6 accessory patterns in The Wool Project collection e-book. The Wool Project is more than just a pattern collection. It’s a catalyst to spark your journey of exploration through the wonders of wool. Each of the patterns in The Wool Project was chosen to showcase a particular breed-specific wool yarn; to give knitters a taste of the distinct characteristics of each sheep’s fleece transformed into a beautiful skein of yarn.
