Yarn from Norway, a stitch pattern from Estonia and a cowl designed in Switzerland – this cowl is truly international. Where are you going to knit it?

The cowl is a really easy knit. It is worked as a long scarf that is either seamed or joined using 3-Needle-Bind-Off to make a loop for style and extra warmth.

Size: 17 cm (6.75’’) wide, 110 cm (44’’) around , but the size is easily adjustable

Gauge: 16 sts = 10 cm 4” in stockinette stitch after blocking
(Gauge is not vital for this project, but it will affect the size of the FO and yardage.)

Materials:
Viking Eco-Alpaca (100 g 3.53 oz, 125 m 137 yd, 100% alpaca), 2 hanks #464, Lila Cerise
Or approx. 210 m 230 yd aran/bulky yarn of your choice
5 mm US 8 40 cm (16”) circular needle, or a size that gives you a fabric you like.
(Designer’s note: I’m a loose knitter, so you may want to try bigger needles if you aren’t.)
1 dpn of the same size you are knitting with for the 3-Needle-Bind-Off (optional)

Skills needed:
Multiple stitch decreases (explained in the pattern)
9-into-1 increase (explained in the pattern)

The pattern has been professionally tech-edited and test-knit.
