Short capes just exude elegance. There is a swish factor that cannot be denied. This beautiful Victorian-styled capelet pattern hugs and drapes over the shoulders. It closes at the high neck with three leaf cords.

18.5” length, 53” at the hem

The materials required are:

2 skeins of Lion-Brand Wool-Ease yarn
or just under 400 yards any other Aran weight yarn

35 yards of contrast worsted weight yarn for the leaf cording
the capelet uses almost all the yarn so if you want to use like-colored leaf cording you will need an extra skein of yarn

Pair of 5mm (US size 8) knitting needles 32” or longer circulars are best

Wool-Ease is an Aran weight yarn. If you use a smaller, worsted weight yarn, your project may be far too small. You will have to watch your gauge carefully. If you’re unsure, it will be best to use a heavy worsted or light bulky yarn if you’re not using Wool-Ease for your project
