This is a pattern for a pair of long & short muffatees and matching beanie & tammy worked in the round using the stranded colourwork technique. Both hat requirements and abbreviations are on Page 6, with the beanie instructions begin on Page 7 and tammy instructions begin on Page 8.
Familiarity with working pieces inside-out and/or good tension control is helpful with this project since there are vertical stripes.

Included with the muffatees are instructions for a folded hem as seen in sample. The size is determined by needles sizes. You will probably need 4 sizes of needles:

  1. needles for desired hand size
  2. needles 3 or 4 sizes larger than desired hand size
  3. & 4. needles used to shape forearm in between needle sizes 1 & 2 If you need any extra room you may be able to go up to size 3.5mm needles with fingering weight yarn.

34 (32, 30, 28, 26) sts x 34 (32, 30, 28, 26) rows = 4in/10cm measured over stranded stockinette on 2.25 (2.5, 2.75, 3.0, 3.25) mm needles
Some knitters work stranded and single-coloured at different gauges. Change needles, as needed, to keep gauge the same throughout. Vertical lines in stranded knitting can be a challenge, please take care.
