This is a simple scarf worked only in Linen Stitch using 2 contrasting, yet coordinated colors. Linen stitch is perfect for working 2 colors. They blend uniquely in each row for the length of the scarf. I worked in some solid stripes for interest and to break up the pattern. Linen stitch creates a dense tightly woven fabric that is durable and appears almost woven.

As a side note…. when I made mine, I messed up the end when binding off. You may notice it in the second photo. The pattern is written to correct the ugly end seen on mine.

Working both colors is very easy in this pattern. There is no need to cut the yarn each time the color is changed. The unused color will just carry up the side until it is ready to be worked again.

I knitted this in 100% Cotton, which I think is casual and good for everyday wear. It looks perfect with a good pair of denim jeans. Machine washable and dryable. It soft against the skin, like everyone’s favorite T-Shirt. It is a great look for both women and men.

The WS is not the same as the RS, so technically not reversible. The RS showcases knits while the WS is purled.

For simplicity, in this pattern’s PDF, I explain how to add stripes, but I did not predetermine where or at what measurements your stripes should go. I think adding solid stripes at your own inclination is an excellent way to customize and personalize this scarf. Feel free to message me on Ravelry or email me if you have questions or improvements that can be made to the PDF.

Please see the notes section of the PDF for tips and recommendations. I welcome comments, suggestions, and questions.
