This shawl is easier than it looks. It’s very relaxing and lots of fun to make. The body of the shawl is comprised of an easy stitch repeat started with a long chain, for which special helpful tips are included for those unaccustomed to a long starting chain. The stunning edging requires a bit more focus, but excellent professional charts are included with all written directions to make the edging pattern also easy to follow.

There are directions on how to make this shawl any size you wish, from scarf size to full-sized stole. Includes charts, stitch diagrams, written instructions and full color photos.

The drape of the yarn is the most important factor to capture this shawl’s delicate and elegant character; thus fine merino, baby alpaca, silk or some silk content laceweight yarns are ideal for an amazing fluttery drape.

A floaty delicate shawl such as Jane Austen herself might have worn over an empire waist gown.
