Worked in a classic eyelet pattern, the blanket is a comforting and elegant home accessory, and a soothing, enjoyable knit. Choose a rustic wool or a plump, smooth yarn to suit your style. A cotton yarn would make a lovely summer baby blanket. A heavier or lighter yarn weight could be used, given a suitable needle size and appropriate yardage. Two of the suggested yarns above (Osprey, Ecological Wool) are worked on slightly larger needles than those specified here, and may require more yardage.

Suggestions for changing the blanket size are provided.

Although gauge is not critical for this project, please note that a change in gauge may affect the finished measurements and the quantity of yarn required.

The gauge statement on page 1 does not specify that it is based on the pattern stitch. However, there are precise instructions for working a swatch in the pattern stitch on page 2.

Row-by-row written instructions are provided as well as a chart for the eyelet pattern. The PDF is in landscape format in order to accommodate the chart.

Please note that this is not the same lace pattern as that in the Modern Retro Wrap.

Experience level: Suitable for the advanced beginner, but also an enjoyable and relaxing knit for the experienced knitter.
