Jarballe arm warmers are knit flat and fastened with buttons to fit around the arm. The chevron stripes are formed by a mosaic colour work design where you use only one colour on any row.
By leaving a button undone at the top of your arm warmer you can wear Jarballe as a simple fingerless mitt with no thumb coverage.

Jarballe is a fully convertible design, in that you can thread a ‘lace’ through the holes in the finished edges and wear the arm warmers with the stripes around the arm.

Arm circumference is fully adjustable to your size, making this design suitable for a range of recipients

To work the design in 4 colours with alternating main colour stripes you will require approximately

70m/75yards of your main colour and 45m/50yards each of 3 contrasting colours

Each stripe takes around 3 metres making this is a great project for using leftovers.

Extra materials - 12 x 15mm/0.5 inch buttons

If you choose to lace the arm warmers to wear the stripes around your arm you will require approximately 1 metre/ 1 yard 5mm ribbon, or create your own lace by crochet or knit as outlined in the pattern

The gauge is measured over the mosaic pattern

The pattern includes a colouring page for you to audition some colour schemes before you begin knitting
