This shawl was designed for 4 skeins of undyed, handspun yarn from a wether named Joe at Moseley Park in South Australia. Joe had many colours in his fleece, so the simple herringbone pattern uses the variations of shade to put ever changing rhythms into the design. The result is a fairly solid shawl, handy for fetching the veggies on a cold winter’s night, or for wrapping up to stare at the stars with a glass of good red wine …

The shawl uses a 10 stitch pattern, repeated 9 times, +1 stitch, with 3 stocking stitches each side for the border. Casting on and off should be loose to maintain the wavy edge. This pattern is charted.
