Scarves are in style, but summer temps can be too warm to wear a thick, bulky scarf. Solution: the June Scarf! Made in a light-weight cotton, this scarf pattern uses the linen stitch, which breathes well. The pattern gives instructions for adjusting the length, but I prefer to make it just long enough to wrap once around my neck.

This jaunty scarf pattern works well for both men and women. With the repeating striping pattern, it looks like a boating scarf, something you might wrap around your neck while you’re skimming across the surface of the lake in a speedboat.

This pattern is a BEGINNER level pattern, and it includes photo tutorials on both the pattern repeat and on changing colors. It is very accessible to even novice crocheters, so start your daughters or granddaughters on this easy-to-make scarf. Heck, teach your husband! I did, and now my husband is much more understanding of my yarn habit!
