Dory’s “just keep swimming” mantra from Finding Nemo is this generation’s version of The Little Engine That Could’s “I think I can, I think I can,” and is no less inspiring. On those days when you need a little extra motivation, turn on a favorite TV show, pick up your needles and create a great little project.

Just Keep Swimming is great for Fair Isle newbies, as there are only two colors. There is some fun colorwork at the top ribbing and again at the heel, but nothing overly complicated.

These socks use 180 yards of the main color and 170 yards of the contrast color for the Adult Medium (foot circumference of 8”). The pattern was written with 9” circulars in mind (which I highly recommend if you’ve never tried them!) but can easily be worked on DPNs.
