Inspired by the motifs and traditions of Finland, the Kaata Hat & Scarf are sure to perfect your colorwork techniques as you work your way through a variety of small designs to create a double layered scarf. Cast on like a toe-up sock, this scarf is worked in the round to create an enclosed tube that shows off a simple embroidered design at either end of the patterning. The cozy hat that is knit from the brim up and explores the same floral and geometric motifs found in the scarf. Both the scarf and the hat are worked with multiple stands for added warmth and there are rows within the charts where three colors are worked across at once. Both the hat and scarf show off light blue, red, and white shades worked together to create a traditional Finnish color palette - a perfect way to brighten up any winter day.
