The intertwining cables on the body of the cape were inspired by the rain running down my window in the summer storm which coincided with the inception of this design.
The name Kallan means flowing water.

Elbow length cape with cable detail knit from the top down with optional hood knit side to side.
Secure at front with shawl pin, snaps or linked buttons.
If knitting the hood, it can be knit first and the body stitches will be picked up from the lower edge, or knit separately and seamed at the end.
Yardage at the lower end will comfortably knit the cape and at the higher end includes knitting the hood.

Pattern has full written instructions only.
Knitting skills required: knit, purl, cable, increase, decrease, knit on border, short rows, pick up stitches

Approximate finished measurements:
Length - 46cm or 18 inches
Lower edge -200cm or 80 inches
Neck edge - 70cm or 28 inches
Wingspan when laid flat - 130cm or 50 inches

This design has been successfully test knit.

There are separate documents for the hood instructions and the body instructions. I have included a document with a ‘P’ suffix for the cape body, which is condensed and will fit on less pages if printing is required.
