“Kashtan” - Russian name for European Horse Chestnut(Aesculus hippocastanum), majestic ornamental tree. A stroll through any well-landscaped park can be inspiring, but if you happen upon a horse chestnut tree displaying its showy panicles of pink flowers with white polka dots in late spring, the experience can be breathtaking. Palmate leaves form the backdrop for beautiful blooms that adorn the tree like hundreds of foot-tall candelabras.

Kashtanea is crescent shape shawl, inspired by Haapsalu lace, knitted from neck-down.

There are two sizes to choose from:

  • small: 17” neck down, 57” wingspan (approx. 530 yds)
  • large: 24” neck down, 75” wingspan (approx. 890 yds)

Two options for edging: pointy and scalloped.

Lace part can be worked from charts or written instructions.
