This Dragonpine Designs pattern was originally written by Katy Lu Green, and modified by Louise Whitehead.

The pattern is written for a women’s medium foot (US size 7-9), but there are instructions included for how to modify sock size for different sized feet. Full written instructions for the heel turn, the heel flap, and the heel gusset are included, as well as instructions for performing grafting (also called the Kitchener stitch). Length of leg can be easily modified, and instructions are included for a folded or unfolded cuff.

One ball of sock yarn (100g) is sufficient for the average foot; if a longer leg is desired or if the foot is larger than a women’s US 12 or men’s US 10, a second ball of yarn may be required. Alternatively, contrasting yarn can be used for the toe and/or cuff.
