My niece, Kyla, was my inspiration for this cat-themed set. Kyla seems to have a magical connection to animals, which is in total contrast to her mom’s fear of anything with four legs! Recently, Kyla’s mom agreed that the family could adopt a kitten. They named her Coral, and everyone is adjusting very well!

The top is knit in one piece (including button bands) on straight needles and is buttoned at the back. The only seaming is at the underarms. The cat silhouette is knit in intarsia and the face is added in duplicate stitch and embroidery. The eyes are 6 mm buttons. Pattern includes 2 lengths.

The hat is also knit in one piece on straight needles and seamed at the sides. The contrasting ear detail is knit in intarsia. Pattern includes instructions for both the straight beanie as well as the one with the rolled-up brim.

Finished items fit Maplelea and American Girl.
