Krisanteema has been inspired by the beauty and intricacy of layered chrysanthemum flower petals, intertwined, and overlapping to create a mesmerizing, soft blossoms.
Contrasting textures emphasize the lacy, scalloped petal panels against the linear ribbing, while gradient contrast colour adds a dimensional feel to the design.

Krisanteema is specifically designed to highlight the properties of yarns with a high silk content and sheen. It features a simple ribbing in the main body section, worked in MC, interrupted by more delicate scalloped petal panels alternating between CC and MC.The simple knit stitch texture of the scalloped petals allows a smooth surface to showcase the full, unobscured gradience of a CC.
The design is also an invitation to explore the combinations of different fiber content yarns and use their contrasts to create very unique versions of Krisanteema.

Krisanteema is a symmetrical triangular shawl knit top down with a Garter Tab Cast-On and increases along the edges and its central spine to obtain its final shape. In the scalloped petal sections the alternating colours are carried along the right edge of RS rows and the shawl is finished with the Stretchy Ribbing Bind-Off to ensure a clean and controlled stretch of the ribbing.

The instructions are provided for a full size and a small size shawl for you to choose your preferred dimensions. Sample in the designer images shows a full size shawl.

The pattern includes full written instructions, and is also fully charted which means - you do not have to consult written instructions if you wish to work from charts only.
