Kylie and Kev Koala just love gumnuts and leaves whilst travelling around the world.

Kylie thinks she is a bit of a princess and Kev likes to accommodate her by dressing up in his gumnuts and leaves bowtie.

They are both made in the round with the head and body made as one for extra strength. The legs and arms are attached using the articulated method. If that is too hard then it is fine to sew them straight onto the body.

Suitable for children under 3 and has been designed to be able to be popped into a handbag for the family on the go.

These particular ones are made with 4 ply crochet cotton but any yarn can be used so long as the stitches are nice and tight. The easiest way to do this is to use a crochet hook smaller than the thread usually recommends.

I used Clever Country 4 ply cotton which is a rebranded Turkish cotton that is slightly round in shape rather than a flat thread. These come in 50 gram balls in 169 metres (185 yards) and you should be able to make two koalas with the main colour. The koalas are about 10 cm with this thread.

12 pages with lots of photos.

Suitable for intermediate level but if really careful an experienced beginner should be able to make them. If help is required I am only an email away.
