This is a pattern for a very “long wingspan” crescent shaped shawl. It is knit in the Estonian fashion and features a gathered stitch, which is easily learned. The shawl measures 68 inches at the widest points across the top and is 24 inches deep at the deepest point. The shawl was knit using a very light weight fingering yarn, and is knit using a U.S size #5 needle.

The weight and width of shawl enables you to wear it in many different ways. It is an excellent introductory pattern into Estonian knitting.

The stitches are both charted and written out line by line.

Skill Level: Intermediate - Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of lace knitting).

This pattern was expertly tested by Rebecca Wood who can be reached at: rkwood16 !at gmail.com, and was knit using Train Case by Mrs. Crosby Plays, in colorway, La Paz.
