This is a pattern for one crochet lace star. I made it when I was developing patterns for snowflakes and the second one I made really wanted to be developed into a star instead. It looks lovely hanging from a branch or three on a string in the window.

The pattern is available to download for free from my blog. It is written out in UK terms using abbreviations and there is a guide to these and a translation into US terms in the document.

I made my stars with 3-ply and 2-ply linen yarn from Linen Spirit. Linen yarn has a very rustic look and it holds its shape much better than cotton or wool. If you haven’t tried it I would definitely recommend it! However, they can be made with any yarn really…

After blocking out I spread a thin layer of PVA glue/water mixture on mine so that they stay stiff - with the linen it is not really necessary, but I do it with my snowflakes, so it was easy just to carry on for these.
