This beanie was originally a Christmas gift for my dad. He was an avid Lakers fan. He had a collection of Lakers shoes, had a few Lakers shirts and shorts, and last but not the least, his cell phone case featured Kobe Bryant. I noticed that he likes to wear beanies especially during the cold winter nights.

The beanie was a success. My dad uses it often and it fits him well.

Making the beanie was more fun than writing it. I had to retrace my steps from the colors of the yarn that I used to my usual crochet gauge. I had to borrow my dad’s beanie so that i could have a visual of how I made it.

My dad liked this beanie. I hope you or the person you made it for would like it too.

You can use any two color medium weight yarn (4) to do this pattern, about 50-60 yards each color. The pattern is a basic beanie pattern but it’s all on the color work. The two colors are done in an alternating manner. You can use blue and white for Dodgers or red and gold for Gryffindor. Try it using different colors. This beanie pattern is a good way to show your team spirit.
