Is there anything better than a homemade apple pie, fresh from the oven? Crispy pastry combined with a lightly spiced apple filling, is a magical combination.

As I designed these socks, those are just the thoughts I had as the pattern developed. And of course, knitting and baking are a match made in heaven!

The gentle stripes of colour brought to mind the apple filling that peeps through the pastry, and the lace pattern is reminiscent of the lattice topping.

The heel is simple to work, and compliments the fresh and modern design.

Sock Details

The socks feature a combination of stripes and lace on the leg. The heel has the look of a short row heel, but is created using decreases and increases. No short rows ! I find it a lovely fit, and perfect for all knitters who enjoy this type of heel construction.

The heel is worked as you knit the sock, and the pattern includes video tutorials for both the heel and also how I alternate yarns for the stripes.

The lace pattern is both written and charted. The pattern can be read for both magic loop and double pointed needles.

Sizes

The pattern comes in 3 sizes - Small (56 sts), Medium (64 sts) and Large (72 sts).

Yarn

The pattern sample pair of socks are knitted using Eden Cottage Yarns on their Brimham base. The shades are Stone and Fern.
