Whether this is your first sock or your 60th, this simple toe-up sock will be a great fit and a great introduction into the toe-up arena. Featuring a round toe and an easy no-wrap short row heel, you can master this pattern even if you have never knit socks. Use sock yarn or DK weight to fit an average woman’s foot. Watch the left side bar for hints and tips along the way.

Size directions are for sock (fingering weight) yarn first, followed by DK yarn in parentheses such as: Knit 64 (48) sts. To make a child’s sock, follow the directions for the DK yarn using the sock yarn gauge.

Directions assume you are knitting on two circular needles or using the Magic Loop technique. If you need a refresher on how to do this there are lots of You-Tube videos.

This pattern has been test knit and Tech Edited for accuracy.
