Raggedy Ruffles are fun and funky hand warmers with soft ruffles that won’t need blocking every time they are washed. Whether knitted in Worsted or DK weight yarn, they are designed to use all those fabulous little leftovers; pick four or five colors that play well together. Hand-dyed and printed color yarns add to the raggedy ruffled look that will be fun to wear. Your choice of colors can give you a look from girly to steampunk. You will have two wrist ruffles just below the thumb.

Pattern is written for worsted weight yarn with directions for using DK weight yarn in Brackets and blue.
Skill level: Easy, experienced beginner.
Skills Required: knit and purl, picking up stitches, knitting in the round.
Size: One size. Approximately a 5 1⁄2” circumference in rib, up to 8” circumference stretched. Fits most adult women. For a snugger fit, go down a needle size. For a looser fit, go up a needle size.
Yarn: For an easy and fast knit, use worsted weight yarn, 150 m (165 yds). NOTE! You can use worsted or finer for the ruffles, use up those bits and bobs!
Or use DK weight yarn, 225 m (246 yds). Again, use DK or finer for the ruffles, use up those odd bits of yarn in your stash.
Gauge: worsted; 16 sts/13 rnds = 5 cm/2” worked in the round in 1x1 rib pattern. DK; 19 1⁄2 sts/15 rnds = 5 cm/2”
Needles & Notions: Size 4.0 mm (US 6) 3.75 mm (US 5) circular needles, or size to achieve gauge. If working using two circulars, you will need two 60 cm/24” needles. If working 2 at a time on Magic Loop, you will need one 100 cm/40” circular. Stitch holder, stitch markers, tapestry needle.
Optional: Smaller circular needle (I use a US 1 (2.25 mm)), 60 cm/24” to pick up stitches for the ruffles.

This pattern has been test knit and Tech Edited for accuracy.
